Bryan Ronsayro
My name is Bryan Ronsayro. I am a personal trainer, volleyball player, YouTuber, and more. I graduated from California State University, Northridge(CSUN) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Applied Fitness. I started playing volleyball in 2009 and absolutely fell in love with it the time I first passed a volleyball. I played Varsity in High School my Sophomore (2010) - Senior Year (2013) at Northridge Academy High School. We ended up as CIF runner-ups my sophomore year and won CIF Championships the next 2 years.
During my college years, I did not play NCAA or NAIA, but I always had a passion to get better and improve my volleyball performance through health and fitness. I went to volleyball open gyms every day, studied next to the volleyball court in the Student Recreation Center, and would sometimes pepper with anyone that stops by just to get a few extra reps in to refine my skills. Throughout the first 3 years of college (2013 - 2016) I was coaching High School Varsity at Northridge Academy and Bishop Alemany High School, yet I still was not satisfied. I wanted to continue to my competitive volleyball journey and I just had to find a way to make that happen. I competed in many… many adult volleyball tournaments.
I am proud to say I am the founder and first President of the CSUN Men’s Volleyball Club. The process took at least 8 months, and we finally got approved to start in the fall of 2016. Let me remind you that it was a lot of paperwork. Our team competed in the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball League (SCCVL). At the time we were in division 3, and being a new club showing up to these tournaments, we had more to prove. We went undefeated the whole season and won the SCCVL Championship Tournament in Spring 2017.
Throughout this journey, I was always thinking about volleyball; how to get better at volleyball, how to get stronger, how to prevent injuries, and how to improve my overall health in the long run. Being in the Kinesiology field I told myself I wanted to be a physical therapist, like the rest of my peers, but I knew deep down inside I wanted to keep volleyball in my life and enjoy the sport for as long as I can with everyone.
I realized as I gain more experience in the volleyball world… my friends/peers - slowly start to fade volleyball out of their lives. I ask them why, and the answer is usually because of injury, a knee, an ankle sprain that messed up their kinetic chain, a low back injury, a shoulder injury, or a neck strain. Many of these injuries are non-impact and could have been prevented if it was worked on. We already know going under the net can cause someone to sprain their ankle or injure their knee, but what about the non-impact injuries? Could these have been prevented? Are their programs out there for volleyball players to get stronger, look better, feel healthier, and be bullet proof?
It looks like I found my calling… help as many volleyball players get stronger, look better, improve their performance, and become less prone to injury through fitness, programming, and awareness!
